Question: I live in Modesto and occasionally dive for abalone with friends from the Bay Area. It’s a long drive though and ends up being a long day, sometimes barely worth the set-up time and effort for just three abalone. Occasionally, I would prefer to just give my three abalone to the others in my dive group (so they can enjoy six abalone) while I drive back to Modesto and catch up on my sleep. How can I legally do this? (Carl W., Modesto)

attention in 2007 for attempting to hide six poached lobsters in his
pants.

Did a dive at La Jolla Cove this morning (hit the water around 9:45 am). Water seemed to be a little cooler and not as clear but I didn’t go out as far either (explains water clarity). I was south of the yellow bouy and swam west across the cove (and then swam back east across the cove on my return because I didn’t watch the compass close enough)

Question: I would like to know the boat limit for taking crab other
than Dungeness. I plan to have between two to four people (all with
fishing licenses) on my private boat and need to know the answer to this
question. Thank you very much for your response. (Jay T.)

Went for a late afternoon dive at La Jolla Cove tonight. Weather was nice at the coast and entry into the water was no problem. Seemed to be more particulate in the water vs Sunday but that may have been due to the tide being higher.

Also found out that you can roll over this rock when the tide is up and you miss the nice soft beach entry
